When I was about three years old my parents got a divorce. At about the age of five my dad moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and got remarried. My two brothers and I continued to live with our mom and step dad in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Then when I was about 16, I moved to Cincinnati with my dad and step mom.
I have been making the same four and half hour trip for 22 years now. Most of the trip is on I -70, passing a lot of Ohio farmland then a small sliver of West Virginia, and lastly an hour of Pennsylvania. Over the years I have noticed a lot of landmarks along the way that make the trip a little less boring, and help me remember where I am during the drive. Some of these places remind me of random bathroom breaks or last minute snack grabs, some are random road signs or places that have become staple stops, but all are places that remind me of home.
Here are some of those landmarks that pinpoint my drive to and from my home city of Pittsburgh.
This is an on going project.
